The Tokyu Group is exhibiting the Tokyu Group Pavilion (officially “とうきゅうグループ館,” with “Tokyu” written in soft hiragana) in the Urban GX Village at GREEN×EXPO 2027. The exhibit theme is “GREEN LIFESTYLE 2050” with the Japanese subtitle “Tane kara hagukumi, tsunagaru mirai” (roughly, “a future nurtured from seeds and connected”). The exhibit message, “Tomoni, utsukushii jidai e,” builds on the group slogan “toward a beautiful era.” The name, theme, and building design were announced on March 19, 2026.

Highlights and exhibits

The group says it will treat environmental care as something rooted naturally in everyday life and town planning, propose a new lifestyle in which nature and the city merge, and show what sustainable urban living could look like by 2050. The seed in the theme stands for the idea that the future starts not with big changes but with small changes in each person’s actions and awareness. The Expo Association’s introduction says the pavilion will offer co-creation experiences for building the future together with visitors. The exhibit flow, content, and duration have not been announced as of October 2026; the “How to enjoy” and “Information” sections of the official site are not yet filled in.

Pre-opening projects are already under way:

  • Character “Miraidane”: Introduced in June 2026 and modeled on the pavilion building. The name comes from the idea of spinning a future (“mirai”) by nurturing seeds (“tane”).
  • GREEN LIFESTYLE TRAIN: Wrapped trains themed on the pavilion — one set each on the Toyoko/Tokyu Shin-yokohama Lines (from July 14, 2026), the Den-en-toshi Line (from July 20) and the Meguro/Tokyu Shin-yokohama Lines (from August 3), planned to run until the Expo closes in September 2027. Posters inside introduce the pavilion and the exhibits of partner companies and organizations.

Building and design

  • Seen from above, seeds of different shapes and sizes nestle together, sprouting and connecting to the future — a message that each person’s actions eventually create big change.
  • The membrane roof near visitors’ eye level is meant to let in soft light and gently envelop people. The pavilion logo uses the same seed-shaped roof as its motif.
  • A ground-breaking ceremony was held on site on May 27, 2026. The designer and builder have not been named in official materials (as of October 2026).

About the exhibitor

Under the slogan “toward a beautiful era,” the Tokyu Group places town development at the core of its business, spanning transportation, real estate, lifestyle services, and hotels and resorts. The exhibit is run by the Tokyu Group EXPO 2027 Exhibition Committee, chaired by a senior executive of Tokyu Corporation. The group is also a Gold Partner (momentum-building project) in the Association’s project sponsorship program.
