MACNICA Green Tech Messe

MACNICA Green Tech Messe is a future-technology hub organized by the Expo Association and sponsored by Macnica, Inc., a Yokohama-based technology trading company, which gives the facility its name. One of the association’s sponsor partner contents, it has two zones: Macnica’s permanent exhibit and an area where government ministries and others hold exhibitions in turn. The permanent exhibit’s theme is “Making green fun with tech.”

Highlights and exhibits

• Permanent exhibit (Macnica): Hands-on displays of “seeds” of yet-unseen technologies gathered from around the world, inviting visitors to imagine the future that grows from them. Visitors are meant to see, touch, and feel how the environment and technology can shape the future together (Macnica, September 16, 2026). The special page’s tagline is “SEEDS OF WONDER.” The specific technologies have not been announced, and the page asks visitors to wait for further news (as of October 2026).
• Rotating exhibitions (ministries and others): The venue for the association’s ministry collaboration events, changing throughout the Expo. The association’s event list as of September 15, 2026, includes, for example (subject to change):
  • Mar 19 – Jun 12: Ministry of Land, Infrastructure, Transport and Tourism, a virtual near-future city experience (tentative title)
  • May 21 – 25: Ministry of Agriculture, Forestry and Fisheries, “FoodTech Garden 2027”
  • Jun 26: Ministry of Agriculture, Forestry and Fisheries, the 22nd National Convention on Food Education
  • Aug 14 – 16: Ministry of Agriculture, Forestry and Fisheries, “Honeybee Week”
  • Sep 8 – 21: Forestry Agency, “Virtual Forest Bathing”
  • Sep 15 – 20: Ministry of Economy, Trade and Industry, “Hydrogen Week” (tentative)
• Green Tech Intensive Trade Show: The Ministry of Land, Infrastructure, Transport and Tourism and the Ministry of Agriculture, Forestry and Fisheries plan to hold it in the rotating exhibition area (approx. 450 m²) from June 30 to July 27, 2027, 10:00–17:00. Technologies for decarbonization, the circular economy, and biodiversity recovery will be shown with demonstrations, models, and videos, with exhibits generally changing every four days. Exhibitors are being recruited from September 29 to November 13, 2026 (MLIT, September 29, 2026; the association’s September 15 list gives July 1–27).

Building and design

Exhibition space: about 150 m² for Macnica’s permanent exhibit and about 450 m² for rotating exhibitions, roughly 600 m² in total (association event page). The building’s designer and exterior have not been announced (as of October 2026).

About the exhibitor

Macnica is a technology trading company built around semiconductors and cybersecurity that also handles AI, IoT, and autonomous driving, and has been headquartered in Yokohama since its founding. In June 2026 it became a Platinum Partner (project sponsorship of ¥500 million or more) in the “liveliness creation” project, sponsoring what the association called a technology hub inside the venue. Macnica is also one of the selected in-venue mobility operators and plans to run self-driving EV buses for visitors.

• Sep 29, 2026: MLIT and MAFF began recruiting exhibitors for the Green Tech Intensive Trade Show (MLIT)

• Location: The association’s map of event facilities shows it on the east side of the venue. It is an association-organized hub, not a Village exhibit.
• Changing content: The rotating exhibition area changes during the Expo, so check the association’s event list (updated as needed) if you are aiming for a specific event.
