Suntory Hydrogen Cooking Restaurant

The Suntory Hydrogen Cooking Restaurant is planned by Suntory Holdings for GREEN×EXPO 2027. One of the Expo Association’s sponsor partner contents, it is introduced by the association as a “sustainability showcase” unique to Suntory: a restaurant cooking with green hydrogen, plus exhibits of circular solutions for horticulture and farming in its front garden.

About the exhibitor

Suntory is a Gold Partner (project sponsorship of ¥300 million or more) in the “liveliness creation” project and was introduced as a new sponsor at the association’s one-year-to-go press conference on March 19, 2026. It cites its agreement with the Expo theme’s idea that flowers, greenery, farming, and food support our lives and bring joy across generations and peoples.

In June 2025, Suntory announced its “Suntory Green Hydrogen Vision”: producing green hydrogen next to its Minami Alps Hakushu water plant and Hakushu Distillery in Hokuto, Yamanashi Prefecture, for use at its plants, with outside sales planned from 2027 (Kyodo News, June 13, 2025). Whether the Expo restaurant will use this hydrogen has not been announced. Within the group, Suntory Flowers Ltd. also appears in the list of flower and greenery exhibitors (association, March 19, 2026).
