Meiji Yasuda “Kenkatsu Park” (“kenkatsu” means health-promoting activities) is a park that Meiji Yasuda Life Insurance Company will set up at the GREEN×EXPO 2027 venue. One of the Expo Association’s sponsor partner contents, it aims to be a “third place” (a place other than home or work where people gather and relax) where visitors can experience health and the charms of Japan’s regions. Its main event is “Minna no Bon Odori” (Bon Odori for Everyone), a circle dance that brings together people across regions, generations, and nationalities.
Highlights and exhibits
The special website introduces five program pillars (as of October 2026):
- Minna no Bon Odori: A hands-on dance program planned every weekend, featuring traditional bon odori from around Japan as well as J-POP, anime, and Western music. The emphasis is on joining the circle rather than just watching. Dance groups will be recruited from each region through municipalities that have partnership agreements with Meiji Yasuda (announced September 8, 2026).
- Health: “Meiji Yasuda Health Checks” using advanced equipment let visitors easily learn about their health condition and disease risks.
- Regional ties: Local product fairs and other events with regions across Japan, not only Yokohama.
- Sports: Events such as soccer and golf that people of all generations can enjoy while moving their bodies.
- Festive atmosphere: Public viewings on a large screen, food trucks, and hands-on events, such as shaved-ice events, that convey traditional Japanese culture.
The park map in the September 8 release shows a North Park Area and a South Park Area with a health check booth, space for local products and workshops, food trucks, a large screen, and a yagura (the raised stage used for bon odori).
About the exhibitor
Meiji Yasuda is a Platinum Partner (project sponsorship of ¥500 million or more) in the “liveliness creation” project. According to the special website, this is the company’s first time taking part in an expo on its own. The park will host events linked to its two flagship programs for community health and local vitality, drawing on its network with more than 1,100 municipalities. When it first announced the sponsorship in October 2025, Meiji Yasuda said the park would symbolize Yokohama’s idea of “park administration created together with citizens” and would take heat countermeasures into account.
